A Nasarawa state High Court sitting in Mararaba and presided over by Justice Simon Aboki has convicted and sentenced Hanna Abraham to 14years imprisonment, TopNaija.ng can confirm.

Hanna Abraham was found guilty of defrauding the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)

Hanna was found guilty on a 3-count charge of obtaining by false pretence and issuance of dud cheque to the tune of N7 million following her arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It was learnt that the convict obtained the said amount as loan to supply 22 trucks of diesel to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and diverted it to other purposes.

The offence, according to the prosecution, contravenes section 1 (1) a, section 1 (b) (i) and section 1 (b) (i) of the Advance Fee Fraud Act, 2006 and the dishonoured cheque offences.

She pleaded not guilty to the counts when she was arraigned, but after trial, Justice Aboki found her guilty on all three counts.

The judge then sentenced her to 10 years imprisonment on count one and two years each on counts two and three without an option of fine.
